Role & Responsibilities

1. Professional Development: 

• Assessing needs for workshops for teachers and students 

• Organizing workshops based on needs and monitoring follow-up 

• Facilitating observation of lessons and micro-teaching 

• Willingness to upgrade one's knowledge and encourage teachers to do the same 

• Organizing coordination meetings, setting the agenda, and maintaining minutes 

2. Institutional Developments: 

• Assistance in the evolution of whole school policies on language and student support, keeping in mind the larger goal. 

• Helping to interview new staff if required. 

• Giving suggestions to the Vice Principal on teaching load allocation. 

• Giving feedback to the Vice Principal about teachers' performance. 

3. Parental/Community Support: 

• Designing and implementing programs for parents 

• Providing individual guidance to parents 

• Encouraging parents to contribute articles to the newsletter. 

4. Responsibilities for one’s own Development: 

• Acting as an appraiser 

• Willingness to be appraised 

• Undertaking action research and reporting on the same 

• Writing articles for the newsletter

5. Curriculum: 

• Assisting the Vice Principal in overall planning and annual review of the curriculum 

• Helping teachers to enrich the curriculum by guiding them in line with the developmental needs of the students 

• Guiding classroom teachers to plan the curriculum based on the objectives, multiple intelligence, and integration across subject boundaries 

• Assisting the Vice Principal in reviewing text materials 

• Planning, organizing, and monitoring field trips and project work 

• Monitoring classroom teaching, correction of notebooks, and correction of assignments in the standard/subject area of responsibility 

• Helping with the design of evaluation tools 

• Monitoring log books and lesson plans 

• Guiding teachers in the use of A.V. aids and potential new resources (human and material) 

• Anticipating the academic needs of the students and teachers 

6. Meetings: 

• Attendance of Monthly Co-ordination Meetings of coordinators 

7. Resources: 

• Maintaining records of teaching materials 

• Submission of stationary requirements to Vice Principal

  • Working Hours: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
